This special group rate cannot be combined with any other discount.
Our usual sites for these introductions are; Montagne d’Argent, Mont Rigaud and the Parc Jean-Drapeau climbing wall in Montreal. We can travel to other sites, but travel fees apply ($0.50 per km from Montagne d’Argent, round-trip, per instructor).
Each instructor can supervise 3 ropes. We recommend a maximum of 9 participants per instructor. Based on the number of participants in your group, we can offer you the services of several instructors.
COURSE CONTENT
- Discover rock climbing and its equipment
- Basic belaying and lowering techniques
- Learn basic movements
- Communiction and safety signs while climbing

Introduction to Rock Climbing includes:
- AGMA and FQME certified instructor
- Rock climbing equipment
- Freebies for persons in charge of the group
Introduction to Rock Climbing doesn’t include:
- Tip for your instructor
- Entrance fees to the Montagne d’Argent park:
- Regular rate: $14 taxes included per person
- Private high schools, CEGEPs, universities: $10 taxes included per person
- Public high schools: $7 taxes included per person
Minimum age
- 8 years old
- Kids under 8 years old must be supervised by a parent at all time (they can climb for free)
Pre-requisite : None
Schedule of the day (typical schedule, departure time may vary):
- 10 a.m.: Welcome at the LA LIBERTÉ NORD-SUD hut and handing over of equipment
- 10:30 a.m.: Technical training and demonstration
- 11:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m.: Supervised climbs and coaching from the instructor
- 3:30 p.m.: End of the climb and return to the hut
- 4:00 p.m.: Departure

Meteorological criteria justifying the cancellation of the activity:
The outing is canceled if the hourly risk of precipitation is more than 1 mm per hour at more than 60% for the majority of the day, based on the forecast the day before the activity is held.
